Kayla has a new trick which is called "LOOK AT ME, I CAN STAND UP WITHOUT TOUCHING ANYTHING!".
She's only done it a few times, but when she does she lets out a strange silent-chuckle. Like quck gasping breaths because she is sooo excited. I think she has only lasted maybe 3-4 seconds tops standing, but its enough to freak me out. As a matter of fact, I dont think its even "standing" per se, but more of a 1 to 2 second crazy balancing act. (can you tell i'm in denial yet?).
The other day she learnt to wave "BYE". So naturally whenever we see people we make sure to say "say bye" to Kayla, to encourage her newfound gesture. The only problem is that its delayed about 5-10 seconds... Like at breakfast the other day. Everyone around us inevitably waves "bye" when we are leaving a restaurant, and about 8 seconds afterwards (we may even have walked around the corner by then) Kayla will mumble "BuhBye" and do a wave with her hand. Out of eyesight and earshot of everyone she was supossed to talk to. Oh well.
I've also attached a pic of our first family outing to the pool. We took a raft for kayla. Luckily for us she didn't freak out. I think the few other younger kids swimming kind of eased her into the whole experience. She did quite a bit of her silent chuckling watching them splash about.
