I called up Time Warner, and they said we were all set to go, and we needed to pick up our new Tivo box at our nearest Time Warner store, and turn in our current box. Upon arrival, I traded in our current box and remote, and received 2 boxfulls of stuff to take home and install.
Once home, I opened the box to find everything I needed... except a remote! I immediately called Time Warner to complain and ask about my missing remote.
After the obligatory 20 minute hold to speak to a representative, and security questions to access my account, the lady on the phone stated "oh yes, Mr. Kanaly, it says here you took posession of said Tivo box, and the Remote at 5:30pm".
My response was "But I didnt get a remote!", and her response was "you needed to explain that to them when you picked up the tivo box" ??? What a cyclical conversation that was.
After about 20 more minutes of this banter and me stating over and over that I hadn't gotten a remote, I finally asked to speak to a manager. The only way I could get my point across that I didn't get a remote in the first place was to ask him if this is what he thought I did for a living -- sign up for tivo, and steal the remotes.
I assured him the market for pilfered remotes wasnt great enough for me to bother.
Finally after enough arguing they have agreed to give us a remote.
Grrr!
